Fernandinho on "brilliant" City coach, Pep

Pep Guardiola is two matches away from a historic season with Manchester City. With the Premier League title already in the bag, the Spaniard will play the FA Cup final on Saturday, and next week will meet Inter Milan in Istanbul in the Champions League final.
Fernandinho knows firsthand what it's like to play under the extraordinary coach and gave an interview with Newcastle hero Alan Shearer for 'The Athletic' to talk about the method behind the madness. The Brazilian midfielder said the coach makes the beautiful game seem so much easier than it actually is.
"Yaya Toure used to say: 'There are two things you need to play for Guardiola. You need to speak at least 3 languages and you need to be able to play at least 3 different positions'. Understand and you'll be one or two steps in front of everyone else", he explained.
He added, "He's a brilliant coach, and puts his players to the test. Look at John Stones, a centre back who this season has moved into the midfield. Look at the inverted wingers. Look at how they've adapted to Haaland's presence".
Fernandinho then turned his attention to his interviewer, Premier League legend Shearer, who he is sure would have benefitted from time under Pep: "I'm sure that if you'd had Pep as a coach, you would have scored even more, double or triple".
"Pep makes you understand that football is much simpler than what you think. He has the power to convince you, to show you, to prove everyday in training, in meetings and, above all, in matches, that everything he tells you will happen", he finished.
