Galatasaray have announced that Felipe Melo has signed a new three-year contract with the club.
The 32-year-old had been heavily linked with a return to Serie A this summer, with Turkish newspaper Hurriyet quoting the former Juventus man as saying in July: "If I were able to go to Inter, that would be the best thing for me. My family's not happy in Turkey, and we don't want to stay here."
However, the Brazilian has now opted to commit his future to the Super Lig champions and has put pen to paper on a new contract, which will last until 2019.
Melo is set to earn €2.6 million per year, with additional bonuses based on appearances, while both the player and the club have the right to terminate the deal at the end of each season.
The former Flamengo man, who won the 2009 Confederations Cup with Brazil, has lifted seven trophies during his time in Turkey so far, including three league titles.
