Fans slam United after tweet about Van de Beek

After a superb season at Ajax, Man Utd signed Donny van de Beek, who has not been able to get a regular starting place. In fact, the player is used to just playing in the closing stages.

This Sunday it was his birthday and the club posted a message on social media to celebrate it: "Say hello to the birthday boy!"

But the club received plenty of negative comments as many supporters wrote to ask the Dutch midfielder to get more game time. He has started just twice in the Premier League. 

"For his birthday, give him 20 minutes instead of five, please." "Is this a joke?" or "surely you're taking the mickey" were some of the comments.

One of the most shared ones was "Are you serious? You're letting the birthday boy sit on the bench with little chance of playing. 'Happy' birthday. 

In the end, he came on in the 84th minute for Marcus Rashford.
