On May 1st, Barcelona seemed to have sealed their place in the final at the Wanda Metropolitano thanks to a resounding 3-0 win, but the Reds coach was aware that not everything had been decided yet... and he was not mistaken.
Fabinho remembered the moments after the painful defeat in Barcelona. Far from finding an angry Klopp in the dressing room, the players were surprised by the German's optimism, who was "happy" about the match his team had played.
"I remember that after the defeat at the Camp Nou, we went back to the dressing room and found Klopp's speech very optimistic. He was happy and happy because we played well and did everything we had practiced during the week," explained Fabinho.
Klopp's unusual reaction to one of the most painful defeats of his career was certainly a great help in turning the tables in the second leg, where Liverpool managed to come from behind with a 4-0 win that will never be forgotten at Anfield and which took the team, for the second year running, to the Champions League final.
