Valeri Bojinov was expected to be a top talent when he moved to Fiorentina in 2005, but returns to Bulgaria having not lived up to that.

Having started his profesional career in Italy at Lecce, the striker seemed destined for greatness when he became the youngest non-Italian player in Serie A history in 2002 at the age of 15.

Bojinov went on loan  to Juventus the season of their relegation, where he played in a team including Alessandro Del Pierro and Gianluigi Buffon.

A move to Man City in 2007 seemed to suggest that he was making a step forward in his career, but made just 11 appearances for the 'Citizens' and then was moved on shortly after the Sheikh Mansoor takeover.

He spent the next years at various teams in Portugal, Serbia, Italy and even a spell in China, but has now returned to his hometown club.

"(I feel) in Vratsa like I'm in New York. I'm 32 but I still love football, it's my passion and here is the right place for me."
