Everton:
The Toffees currently sit 9th in the Premier League. Although they are unbeaten, they have only one win from their opening four games, drawing three times. The last meeting between these clubs produced a 4-0 victory for Everton.
Marco Silva has an extensive list of injuries, with Jagielka, Keane, Coleman, Gomes and McCarthy all unavailable for selection. In addition, star striker Richarlison is suspended. New signing Yerry Mina trained with the club for the first time this week, but he is unlikely to start due to recovering from a foot injury.
West Ham:
While their opponents have yet to beaten this season, West Ham have yet to be anything but. Sitting bottom of the Premier League without a single point, the London club will be keen to improve on a woeful performance against Wolves in their last match.
Manuel Pellegrini does at least have a kinder list of injuries to deal with, as only Wilshere, Carroll and Reid are unavailable to him.
Manuel Pellegrini on dealing with his side's terrible start to the season:
"I have been in this position before. I started with Villarreal and we had three points from the first 15 and we finished third in the table.
“After that with Málaga when I arrived in the first season, the team was in the relegation zone. We lost five or six games in a row but we continued in the same way.
“We were improving every day a little bit more until the results arrived. I am more confident than ever.”
Marco Silva on a possible formation change due to injuries:
"In some moments you have to think, be creative, to prepare the situation well.
"It is not a new situation for you and the club, the position Dominic played in the last game, is not something new to him but if I have everyone fit I approach the game thinking about him in the other position.
"He is a good example of one moment.
"In other situations we can change the formation as well, and we have to be creative.
"I will have to be."
