The Everton board want Unai Emery to be the new manager. Even so, the Liverpool outfit have an alternative if he takes too long in deciding. That alternative is current Getafe boss José Bordalás and he pleases the club due to his way of playing.
Despite the win against Chelsea, the board don't think that current interim boss Duncan Ferguson's work will be enough to take the club back to the elite.
The interest in Emery isn't anything new, but the possible arrival of Bordalás is a scenario that the Toffees hadn't considered until just a few days ago. According to 'Sport', he is the favourite if Unai Emery declines the offer or takes too long to decide.
Everton's situation is quite dangerous as they are just 2 points off the relegation zone and they have some very complicated matches coming up. In the next few matchdays, they will be away to Manchester United and at home to Leicester and Arsenal.
