Even Havertz scores ugly goals, although he got injured

He is the in-form player in the Bundesliga and he once again showed why several clubs will be after him in the summer. This time he scored the only goal of the game in Leverkusen's 0-1 win at Freiburg. It was not the best goal he has ever scored and he got injured in the process.

All goals count the same whether they are stunners and fluky goals, And Havertz's goal was more the latter than the former, but the German youngster once again showed he is very dangerous.

After a dull and goalless first half, Freiburg and Leverkusen came out for the second half and the deadlock was broken within 10 minutes.

Although the best chance of the first period fell to the home side, it was Leverkusen who hit the front. In the 54th minute, Bailey, who had had a first half to forget after plenty of misplaced passes, shone.

Despite being surrounded by opponents, he managed to thread the ball through to Havertz who ran on to it. The 20 year-old then used his body to get away from his marker. If he touched the ball, it would be a goal, if not, then he would have been felled by the defender and it would have been a penalty.

He did the former and put the ball under Schwolow's legs. But the goal came at a cost. Havertz landed awkwardly after being brought down by his opponent and picked up an injury to his leg. He tried to carry on, but then went down again after five minutes. He limped off in the 66th minute and had to be subsituted. The three points came at a price for the away side.
