Espanyol have been looking to the Premier League to find their next goalkeeper. More specifically, they are wanting to take one of Brentford's two Spanish goalkeepers off their hands. 'Los Pericos' want to repatriate Alvaro Fernandez.
Loaned out by SD Huesca, Alvaro Fernandez was second to David Raya in the season just gone. He appeared in just 12 matches, over which he conceded 24 goals.
'AS' report that Espanyol are looking for a goalkeeper who will replace their current 40 year old veteran shot stopper, Diego Lopez. Alvaro Fernandez is at the top of their list to make said substitution.
The future of their current second keeper, Oier, is unclear. He has reached the end of his current contract, and he is yet to renew. Diego Lopez has also not renewed at the club and so he too could be leaving this summer.
