Eriksen, so close yet so far

The Champions League final may lead to Eriksen renewing his Tottenham contract,even if he has a verbal agreement with Real Madrid. The Spanish giants will have the Danish closer than ever when he steps on the Wanda Metropolitano, but at the same time he is currently very far, and their verbal agreement could end up being nothing but that. 

Because Eriksen, who has not renewed his contract this season, could decide to if he raises the Champions League Cup in Madrid. Pochettino has publicly stated that he wants him to stay, and even gone as far to say that he doesn't imagine the team without him. The midfielder, with a contract until 2020, has the ball in his court. 

Lucas Moura's hat trick in Amsterdam has opened a new horizon with Eriksen. In Madrid, according to 'AS', they fear that a victory in the Champions League final will cause Levy, owner of Tottenham and a tough negotiator, to raise his demands.

It is also worth mentioning  that the happiness of winning a title of this magnitude, coupled with a significant income, could lead Tottenham to offer an extension of contract to one of its big stars much greater than what has been offered so far.

In fact,  Real Madrid were waiting for the elimination of Tottenham to unleash new contacts with the British entity. Now, they will have to wait until after the UCL final in the Wanda Metropolitano, which could determine the Danish player's future.
