The Danes only just scraped a victory against Peru and were hoping for a much-improved performance when they faced the 'Socceroos' in Samara on Thursday afternoon.
They certainly came out all guns blazing and capitalised in the seventh minute thanks to their talisman Eriksen.
Denmark won possession in midfield and played the ball through to Nicolai Jorgensen to flick delicately into the path of a rushing Eriksen who smashed a half-volley into the back of the net.
The goal means the Tottenham midfielder has been directly involved in 18 goals in his last 15 international appearances for Denmark (13 goals, 5 assists).
