Many of Europe's biggest clubs tried to sign Christian Eriksen, including Real Madrid. Inter ended up paying around 20 million euros for a player who has seen more time on the bench than on the pitch.
Conte does not seem to trust him fully, and the numbers show it: he had only played 348 minutes when the season came to a halt, which is translated into eight games and only three as a starter. The numbers are worrying, especially when one considers the key role he played for Spurs.
Eriksen's first season has been forgettable, which means he will have to make an effort to earn a place and provide everything expected of him. Meanwhile, the pandemic has considerably worsened his situation.
Eriksen was living in a hotel in Lombardy when he had to pack his bags because the health crisis forced the hotel to close, so Inter tried to find him a place to stay.
Eriksen was able to go to Lukaku's house and eventually chose to live in the Italian club's sports city with other employees, "I ended up staying in the club's training ground with a chef and five staff members who chose to be quarantined to protect their families," he told The Sun.
The Dane did not choose to go and live with his colleagues because he did not want to disturb their families and did not want to sleep on a sofa for more than two weeks.
On top of that, even the police stopped Eriksen and the player had to explain himself. "A patrol car stopped me in Milan. With my bad Italian I had to explain what I was going to do and show the documents," he said in an interview with the Danish newspaper 'Jyllands-Posten'.
