Eric Garcia's arrival becomes less likely... to Koeman's disappointment

Barca are short of central defenders. Ronald Koeman is clear the club should sign a centre-back in the winter transfer window. 

Eric Garcia is the favourite for Barcelona. However, his signing seems to have become less likely in the last few hours. 

For Eric Garcia to end up at the Camp Nou, the acting president and the board need the approval of all three candidates. Font is reportedly happy with the City defender being signing, but Laporta and Freixa are less so. 

That lack of consensus has meant Eric Garcia's transfer has become difficult. When finding out about this news, 'Mundo Deportivo' says that Koeman has felt tremendously disappointed. 

Koeman and his coaching staff consider it an error to pass up the opportunity of signing Eric Garcia. They believe that the club need another central defender. Barca have Pique, currently injured, Umtiti, Lenglet, Araujo and Mingueza.
