Likewise, Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson is flourishing on foreign shores, as he has scored 5 goals in just 6 league appearances for German side Hoffenheim at the start of the current campaign.
And so we thought it appropriate to take a look at some of the other English young guns attempting to ply their trade away from the English top flight.
Keanan Bennetts, winger, Borussia Monchengladbach
Bennetts' performances for the German club's youth side have drawn comparisons between him and Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale. he made an immediate debut for Monchengladbach, scoring twice on his reserve team debut. The youngster has German roots; his mother is a German native and taught him the language during his childhood, and so perhaps his transition to the Bundesliga side has been slightly easier than most. Nevertheless, should be become a superstar, there will be a tricky decision for the player when it comes to his international allegiance; he has England, Germany and Nigeria to choose from.
Mandela Egbo, defender, Borussia Monchengladbach
Egbo took the huge decision to move abroad very early in his career, opting to sign for Mochengladbach from Crystal Palace at the tender age of 17. Now 21, the player seems to have his sights fully fixed on the future, having already played 878 minutes for Mochengladbach reserves at the start of the current campaign. Egbo made his Bundesliga debut it February, playing 10 minutes in a 1-0 win over Hannover, and has continued to push on in his development. Jonathan Panzo, defender, Monaco
The Chelsea academy graduate swapped south London for the south of France in July, as the U17 World Cup winner looked to broaden his horizons in search for first team football. Born to Ivorian parents, Panzo is another of the youngsters on the list who had an easy ride adapting to the language of his new home, as he arrived with a competent knowledge of French. Panzo has made six appearances for Monaco's reserve side, and is now looking to impress new first team boss Thierry Henry, in a bid to break into the first team set up.
Noni Madueke, midfielder, PSV Eindhoven
At just 16 years of age, Noni Madueke is the youngest player attracting attention with his skills abroad. It had been reported that the player had turned down contracts at Tottenham, where he had represented the U18 side at just 15 years old, and Manchester United, in order to move to Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven. Madueke was named star of the tournament in the Sonnenland Cup, a youth competition in Germany, as well as starring in the UEFA Youth League for Tottenham, before moving to the Netherlands.
