50 million euros - that's the amount that Atletico are asking from Manchester United in their continued pursuits of Kieran Trippier. They won't consider accepting anything less.
The side from Old Trafford are already looking at alternatives in preparation for what might happen. Meanwhile, those in England also feel it is unlikely that Trippier will return to the Premier League.
Dean Ashton, ex-player of Norwich and West Ham, was full of praise for Trippier. He highlighted his great ability, but he doesn't believe he would try his luck at United.
"If he goes to United, will he play every game? No, he will have to fight for a starting spot. So, why would he leave Atletico, who are champions of Spain? It would really surprise me if he were to go to United", he pondered on 'Talksport'.
In fact, he believes that Atletico will convince him to stay as they have the ability to carry on winning titles. "The club will have another chance at winning La Liga", he predicted.
In the case that he signs for United, we would be fighting for a place with Wan-Bissaka. Dean Ashton believes that Trippier is well above the quality of the other full-back. "Defensively, Trippier has improved a lot. Wan-Bissaka still has to improve on a few things. If you want someone who's the finished article, that's Trippier", he concluded.
