English football resisting COVID-19: the National League still on

BeSoccer by BeSoccer @besoccer_com - 0 92

Despite the pandemic provoked by the coronavirus, on Saturday several National League matches will be played, the equivalent to the 5th tier of English football.

The Premier League CEO, Richard Masters, announced the suspension of the competition of the league, FA Cup, Championship and Women's Super League.

All of these are competitions in England, but they aren't amateur competitions, such as the National League for example, which remains in place despite the risk of the coronavirus.

Therefore, on Saturday several matches of the English 5th tier will be played: Maidenhead United v Stockport County, Sutton United v Hartlepool, Notts County v Eastleigh, Dover v Chesterfield, Fylde v Aldershot Town and Halifax v Ebbsfleet United.

The newspaper 'Sport' says that the clubs ended up deciding if they finally play or not, so some matches such as Solihull Moors v Harrogate Town on Friday were postponed.
