According to the 'Mirror', Unai Emery has now made contact with Thomas Meunier to start conversations with him over a move to London from Paris. By taking advantage of the season they spent together at the Parc des Princes, the Basque coach wants to convince him to sign for Arsenal.
The cited media outlet sustains that Emery has wanted to lead the operation by making use of his great relationship with Meunier. The ex-PSG coach is aware of the Belgian's doubts over staying in Paris, where Dani Alves has taken over from him.
Nevertheless, Arsenal know of the difficulty his signing entails. 'France Football' says it would cost about 30 million euros, a figure which is too much for the Gunners' budget after missing out on the Champions League once again.
That said, in London they are confident that the need for PSG to sell in order to comply with FFP rules will make negotiations easier. As a result, Emery will be able to reinforce the right side of defence with the signing of Thomas Meunier this summer.
