Eibar v Barcelona - as it happened
FULL-TIME: Eibar 2-2 Barça! That's the La Liga season done and dusted then. After an exciting first half, the two sides played out a drab second part in which Barcelona seemed to have an eye on next week's Copa del Rey final against Valencia. Thank you for joining us for this season finale, and stay tuned for a match report later this afternoon!
One final chance of the game for Eibar!! The balls falls to Orellana on the edge of the box and he tries to curl it into the far corner with his left foot, but his effort sails harmlessly wide.
Lenglet goes down and stays down after making contact with an Eibar player on the left. Not what Barça want to see just before their cup final...
Messi breaks down the right in space and cuts back inside, but his cross towards the marauding Gerard Pique at the back post is well cut out by Cote.
Substitute Pérez shows good determination to find space on the left following a header from Aleña, but he can only slice his left-footed shot from a tight angle over the bar.
Eibar make their last change as Cardona replaces Charles.
Half chance for Messi!! Vidal pulls the ball back to him from the left, but Messi can't sort his feet out and skies his effort over the bar.
Escalante tries to trip Alba after the ball has gone, and the Spaniard responds by squaring up to the Eibar midfielder. Both men enter the book.
What a miss from Cucurella! More shocking passing out from the back leads to Eibar flooding the Barça box. The ball falls to Cucurella who looks set to slide the ball past Cillessen for his second of the game, but he opts to take a shocking first touch rather than shoot and then blazes miles over the bar. A real let-off for Barça...
Cote brings down Roberto and stops a promising Barcelona counter-attack in its tracks. More passing moves like that needed from the champions today.
Ivan Ramis has been struggling with a leg injury, and he makes way for Sergio Álvarez.
Cucurella finds space on the left but can't get the ball to Charles who is waiting in the middle. Heavy challenge from Lenglet there, but he seems to have got a touch on the ball to take it back to Cillessen.
The ineffective Malcom makes way for yet another La Masia graduate in Carles Pérez, who immediately takes on two players after entering the pitch. Could he make the difference for Barcelona at the end here?
Nothing comes from the corner, however, and we seem to have hit a bit of a lull here at the Ipurua after a fast-paced first half.
Sloppy again from Barça - it's Wagué's turn to give the ball away in a bad position, and he responds by bringing down Cucurella on the left. Eibar look to load the box, and win a corner from the resulting free kick.
Barcelona's midfield are really struggling to deal with Eibar's high press. Rakitic is the one who gives it away in a bad position this time, but Eibar's attack comes to nothing. Barcelona may be better served adopting a more direct approach in the last 20 minutes...
Eibar also elect to make a change, as Sergi Enrich comes off to a round of applause and Kike Garcia replaces him.
Academy midfielder Carlos Aleña comes on to replace the leggy looking Busquets in midfield for Barcelona.
Huge chance for Barça!! Messi again the creator as he slides in Malcom on the right. With Pique waiting to finish in the middle, the Brazilian gets caught in two minds and rolls a rather sorry cross/shot across goal that evades Pique and goes out for a goal kick - wasteful from the winger.
Smart stop from Dmitrovic!! Pique makes a rare venture forward from centre back, and Messi slides the Spaniard in from a tight angle on the right. He shoots low across goal, but Dmitrovic saves well.
Eibar camped in the Barcelona half at the moment, but the hosts can't seem to get the final pass right. Cucurella beats Pique on the left but his cross falls straight to Alba.
This has been one of the worst performances I've seen from Busquets in a Barcelona shirt. Normally such a reliable presence in the centre of the pitch, he seems to have lost the ball in bad positions a countless number of times today. Frenkie de Jong's arrival couldn't come soon enough for Barça...
Another chance for Orellana goes begging! After Busquets gives the ball away once more, the Chilean receives the ball at an angle on the right side of the box, but gets his feet in a muddle and shanks his shot wide.
Big save from Cillessen!! He stops an Enrich volley from the edge of the box, before Orellana drags the rebound all the way across goal from a tight angle. Barça living dangerously...
Again, Barça are caught out playing out the back and only a last-ditch tackle from Pique stops Charles from firing past Cillessen.
Charles gets up at the near post but can only head over on the stretch. Barça playing a dangerous game trying to pass out the back as Eibar resume their high press from the first half.
Quick start from Eibar, and they have a corner as Orellana tries to take on Jordi Alba down the right.
Barça make the first change of the match as Wagué enters for Semedo at right-back. The Portuguese banged heads with Enrich at the end of the half and isn't able to continue.
Back underway at the Ipurua!!
And that amazing strike is the last action of the first half!! Cracking 45 minutes here and Eibar and Barcelona are all square at 2-2 - let's hope for more of the same after the break.
GOAAAAL! What a worldie!!!! Cillessen comes off his line to head clear from the edge of the box, but the ball falls to De Blasis who hits a stunning first time effort from more than 30 yards out back over the keeper's head. Incredible strike from De Blasis, but the Dutch keeper was at fault once again...
Semedo enters the book after leading with his arm in an aerial battle with Charles.
De Blasis enters the book for a late challenge on Rakitic as Eibar look to press high again. Barça looked in a bit of trouble just before the foul there.
After their excellent start, Eibar now look rocked by Messi's quickfire double. More space now for Barcelona going forward, and Eibar seem to be struggling to maintain the high press that was serving them so well earlier on.
Semedo down here after a painful-looking clash of heads with Enrich. With that goal, Messi looks set to take home the Golden Boot now as he sits 4 goals ahead of Mbappé...
A long VAR review here even though Messi was in his own half so couldn't have been offside. The Eibar defence parted like the Red Sea for Moses there, but it is remarkable how easy Messi made that difficult finish look.
Ramis receives a yellow card for dissent as he insists Messi was offside...
GOOOOAAAALLl! What on earth are Eibar doing??? Rakitic receives the ball in his own half and looks up to see Lionel Messi in acres of space through the middle. The Croatian slides through his captain, who trots through and chips delightfully over Dmitrovic to score his second goal in two minutes. Incredible from Messi once again.
BUT THEY HAVE NOW! GOAAAAAL! Vidal slides through an inch perfect reverse pass to Lionel Messi, who takes a quick touch to the side of Dmitrovic before sliding it under the goalkeeper from a tight angle - who else??
Barcelona enjoying a longer spell of possession as they look to impose themselves on this game. The Catalans haven't really got going yet.
The Argentinian curls it around a foot wide of the right post - Dmitrovic never looked worried.
Messi wins a free-kick around 30 yards out. It seems a bit central, but we all know what he can do from here...
Interesting stuff from Vidal and Jordán who get involved in some handbags and seem to take it in turns pushing each other on the back of the head... strange moment, but VAR doesn't flag anything up...
Barça come close after a ball from the left reaches Roberto at the back post, but a timely recovering tackle sees the ball roll into Dmitrovic's hands.
Big save from Cillessen!! It could have been two as Pique gives the ball away in a dangerous position, but Charles' shot doesn't beat Cillessen at the near post this time.
GOOOOAL! The hosts have a deserved lead!!! Ex-Barça academy product Cucrella puts his side ahead after receiving a nice cushioned layoff from Enrich and firing under Cillessen from the left side of the area. The Dutch keeper really should have done better there as that effort squirmed underneath him...
Another Eibar shot straight at Cillessen - Charles from the edge of the area this time. The Dutchman has been busy in the early exchanges but is yet to be really tested.
Great move from Barça! Messi slides in a genius reverse pass to Alba, but his delivery from the left inside the box is poor and evades everyone.
Eibar looking confident here and are camped in the Barça half, with impressive midfielder Joan Jordán keeping them ticking over. Enrich shoots straight at Cillessen after a Cucurella cutback from the byline.
Eibar have started brightly and are pressing Barça high up the pitch. The champions are struggling to get out so far, but the home side are leaving large spaces in behind...
An Eibar cross from the right is scrambled behind for a corner, although a diving Cillessen was certainly worried. Moments later, Enrich tries his luck from the edge of the box but can only drag his shot wide.
Not famed for his goalscoring prowess, Sergio Busquets nearly scores from the halfway line (yes you read that right)! The Spaniard latches onto a shanked clearance from Dmitrovic but his attempt from the centre circle rolls wide of the left post.
Malcom has a chance from a tight angle after being slid through by Messi, but hits his effort straight at Dmitrovic - it wouldn't have counted anyway, however, as the Brazilian was offside.
Eibar go straight down the other end and nearly go ahead!! Charles latches onto a cutback from De Blasis but can only direct his effort straight at Cillessen.
First opening for Barcelona!! Robeto steals the ball and looks to be through on goal, but cuts it back to Messi whose shot is block.
Scrappy start to the game as both teams seem to have forgotten how to keep the ball for more than 10 seconds...
Eibar give a guard of honour to the champions before getting us underway at the Ipurua!
Barcelona in bright salmon pink (orange?) for this one as Eibar wear their usual home colour of blue and red. Captain Lionel Messi leads out the champions as they look to prepare for the Copa del Rey final in the best way possible with a win in the Basque country.
The players are walking out onto the pitch for the final La Liga game of the season! Let's hope for a fitting end to an exciting campaign...
One thing to look out for today from Barcelona's point of view is Lionel Messi's hunt for the prestigious European Golden Boot award. With 34 league goals this season, the Argentinian currently leads Kylian Mbappé by two strikes, although the Frenchman has one game left to play this season. Therefore, Messi needs to score today to stretch out his lead at the top and bring home the award once again.
Eibar will believe that they can take all three points in front of their home fans today, as they face a depleted Barcelona side who may have one eye on the Copa del Rey final and could still be shaken from their disastrous Champions League collapse at the hands of Liverpool.
Regardless of the result today, Eibar will stay in 12th position in the table. With that in mind, José Luis Mendilibar has named an attacking looking lineup, with top scorer Charles (14 goals) starting up front next to Sergi Enrich (7 goals) as the Basque side look to end a solid season with a win over the champions.
This is how the Barcelona players arrived to La Liga's second smallest stadium.
Valverde has also called up five players from the youth squad to the bench, as Carles Pérez, Wagué, Riqui Puig, Abel Ruiz and Iñaki Peña will all be hoping to come on and experience some valuable first team minutes.
Barça are also missing the injured Ter Stegen and Arthur ahead of next week's Copa del Rey final, meaning Cillessen starts in net and Vidal keeps his place in midfield.
So, Barcelona name as strong as a lineup as they could have done considering the players they are missing. Without the injured Suárez, Dembélé, Coutinho and Boateng, Valverde has had to rethink his front three, where Messi, Malcom and Sergi Roberto feature.
Barcelona: Cillessen; Semedo, Piqué, Lenglet, Alba; Roberto, Rakitic, Busquets, Vidal; Messi, Malcom
Eibar: Dmitrovic; De Blasis, Oliveira, Ramis, Cote; Orellana, Escalante, Jordán, Cucurella; Enrich, Charles
With under an hour until kick-off, let's have a look at how both teams line up...
Good afternoon and welcome to our live coverage of Eibar v Barcelona from the Ipurua. This Sunday afternoon's clash marks the end of another exciting La Liga season, in which Ernesto Valverde's Barcelona side proved once again to be a level above their competition as they took home yet another league title.
