The 'Clarets' have appointed Mike Rigg as their new technical director. Rigg has previously held roles at Manchester City, QPR and Blackburn and will begin his new job at the start of December.
Dyche was frustrated in the summer as Burnley were only able to bring in Ben Gibson, Matej Vydra and Joe Hart, but understands that Rigg will not be able to work miracles at Turf Moor.
Dyche remarked: "Mike Rigg's coming in, he'll give us a new thinking, a new set of eyes and adding to the thought process on players.
"Everyone knows January's a really tough window so, to make it clear, we're not looking for Mike to come in and miraculously hand over seven players.
"We're looking for a bigger picture process to add to what we try to do on the recruitment side. There's certain people we're interested in but we'll have to wait and see."
