Paulo Dybala's future becomes more uncertain as the days go by, and his departure seems near. He is not lacking offers from some of Europe's best clubs, and he has even been tipped off as Neymar's replacement if the Brazilian were to make a comeback to Spain's La Liga, be it with Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Now, the Juventus coach has left a clear message to the Argentinian forward: he could be left out of Champions League protagonism. Although the comments made by the Italian coach did not refer to Dybala specifically, Sarri did allude to the fact that some big names may have to be cut from the squad list for important games. "We have to cut six players from the Champions League squad. If we don't, the choices we have are crazy."
For Sarri, the situation is delicate, as there have been some of his players linked with moves, his squad is too large, and the press' constant rumours are not helping.
"The last 20 days of the market will be difficult for us. It's a difficult, embarrassing situation, because we risk leaving top players out of the squad list. It's a situation we have to resolve, and it's not strictly connected to the choices of the coach or club.". Maurizio Sarri then runs into a similar problem as Valverde: cutting excellent players weho deserve to play at Europe's biggest stage - such as Paulo Dybala - out of the squad.
Regardless, Maurizio Sarri insisted on focusing on the "here and now" with the "Jewel": !all the assessments on Dybala are premature. He did two training sessions; he did half an hour today. He clearly can't be in top physical condition and this also affects what he can do as a false nine. I think he has the attributes and the goals to play in that role."
