In a set piece that was clearly devised on the training ground, attackers Reus and Guerreiro combined to open the scoring against Werder Bremen on Saturday.
The contest at Signal Iduna Park was quite evenly balanced, before the awarding and precise execution of a wide free kick, left the visiting players both bemused and amazed.
After the referee blew his whistle for the foul, Reus and Guerreiro immeditely entered into deep discussion, as they hatched a plan to score an exquisite free kick routine.
The goal featured an amazing piece of deception on the hosts's part; Marco Reus seemed destined to take the kick, with Guerreiro seemingly accepting this and walking away.
However after the whistle blew to signal that play could go ahead, the Portuguese appeared to change his mind and walk back towards the ball.
Still, Reus was the designated taker, and just as he moved to cross the ball, he hesitated just long enough for Guerreiro to arrive and take the kick himself.
No Werder Bremen player had anticipated the move; and as such, their back line stood stationary, as Paco Alcacer wandered into the middle of the box to head the hosts in front.
