Diogo Costa gives green light on Man City move

With the summer transfer window soon approaching, Manchester City are preparing to reshuffle their squad significantly following their dismal 2024/25 campaign. And a change between the sticks might also be part of that overhaul.
According to 'Foot Mercato', Diogo Costa has given his green light on a move to the Premier League side, with the 25-year-old goalkeeper's representative, Jorge Mendes, said to be pushing to seal the deal as soon as possible.
It is understood that Costa has been on Man City's radar for quite some time, as Ederson's number-one spot remains in doubt due to his ongoing injury concerns, but only recently did the contracts between the two parties intensity.
The Portuguese, who is reportedly keen on joining Guardiola's side, has a €75 million release clause included in his contract with Porto, valid until 2027, but City believe around €50 million could be enough to reach an agreement between the two clubs.
Manchester United are also said to be big admirers of Costa, especially due to Andre Onana's disappointing performances for Ruben Amorim's side, but they are unlikely to attempt a swoop on the Porto man due to the lack of finances.
