Augustin Marchesin had an operation on Friday after having suffered an Achilles tendon tear in his left leg. He will be out for approximately eight months so Celta Vigo want to find a replacement.
The Spanish side can only get players who are without a club. The rule allowing signings outside transfer windows to replace players who had suffered long term injuries was scrapped on 1st October 2020.
One of the goalkeepers on their radar is Diego Alves, 'Relevo' reports. The Brazilian has La Liga experience and he has been offered to Celta to replace Ivan Villar, who is the number one at the moment.
Alves ended a contract at Flamengo and, at the age of 37, he is a free agent. He was at Almeria for four seasons and six at Valencia and he has spent the last six campaigns at Flamengo.
The cited source says that the Brazilian is not the only one who has been offered to Celta Vigo. Joel Graterol (ex-America Cali), Ivan Arboleda (ex-Newell's) and Noam Baumann (ex-Ascoli) are also on the radar.
