He was only at Manchester United after his time at Real Madrid. Di Maria did not fit in in England and he left, much to the delight of his partner Jorgelina Cardoso.
Cardoso's comments have caused uproar. She had little positive to say about her time in Manchester and even asked Di Maria not to accept any offers from that country.
"All I would say is that we hear these stories from a player that has played like a drain like Di Maria did at Manchester United. He was awful and I had great expectations and sort of excitement when he came to the club thinking we were signing a top player," Gary Neville told 'Sky Sports'.
"But he wasn't interested from day one. Maybe he needs to look across the road to Sergio Aguero, his compatriot or Pablo Zabaleta who've done alright in Manchester and haven't been in a rush to leave," he added.
