It seems like N'Golo Kante can do no wrong, especially in the eyes of international manager Didier Deschamps.
Full of apologies when greeted by his coach upon arrival at France's national team base, N'Golo Kante was somewat bemused by Deschamp's reaction to his transport troubles.
A train delay had caused the Chelsea midfielder to arrive 45 minutes late for national duty at Clairefontaine, but when he informed his coach the reason for his late arrival, Deschamps response was hilarious.
The French coach listened to Kante's pleas, and simply said: "But N'Golo, you are faster than the train."
Kante played both of France's matches during the break; first against Holland in the Nations League, and then a friendly with Uruguay.
This is not the first time that one of Knate's coaches has made light of the midfielder's energetic playing style.
During his time at Leicester, assistant coach Steve Walsh joked: "'We play three in midfield - Danny Drinkwater in the middle and Kante either side."
Kante recently penned a contract extension at Stamford Bridge, which will see him remain a Chelsea playe until at least 2023.
