De Ligt's eye-watering Juventus salary revealed
With pre-season drawing ever closer, it seems as though the drawn-out soap opera around de Ligt's future may finally be coming to a close.
Agent Mino Raiola has been in charge of negotiating the best deal for his client, demanding a substantial pay-rise that was enough to scare off Barcelona.
It seemed as though Barcelona and PSG were originally the two teams locked in a battle for his signature, with many believing the the influence of ex-teammate and friend Frenkie de Jong could be enough to sway him towards Catalonia.
But then Juventus entered the race. Cristiano Ronaldo took it upon himself to convince de Ligt at the Nations League finals, whilst the Turin-based side were willing to give him a wage that other clubs around Europe weren't able to offer.
According to newspaper 'AD', de Ligt will earn three times more than Frenkie de Jong at Barcelona and will become the second best-paid player in Italy - after Cristiano Ronaldo, of course.
The impressive young centre-back will be better paid than Serie A stars such as Dybala, Koulibaly and Pjanic if and when his 70 million Euro transfer does go through.
