At the PSG camp, they have forgiven ... but they won't forget. Al-Khelaïfi and the rest of the directors have not yet accepted that De Jong chose Barcelona when he came so close to signing for the French club. They were not happy with the way the deal was managed and now, PSG have moved their focus onto various other names that Barcelona are also following for next season.
'Sport' recounts that the resentment in the Parc des Princes offices is tangible. They had their hands on De Jong, although PSG would do well to tread carefully after UEFA threatened them with a sanction. CAS served as a life support this time, but the shadow of doubt remains.
Neither are Barcelona's attempts to sign Verratti or Rabiot forgotten. The latter, for certain, continues to cause headaches at the PSG camp, who don't know what to do for the best. Being as it is, with all these ingredients in the mix, there is sure to be an explosive outcome.
Despite the fact that PSG are obliged to sell, they continue to look for world class footballers to add to their ranks in their hunt for an elusive Champions League title. In order to fulfil this dream, the club have looked into signing two names that Barca also happened to be interested in: De Ligt and Jovic.
While both are up for grabs, it seems as though Barcelona may have tipped the scales in their favour, especially for the central defensive position. Barca could be considering Jovic as a possible substitute for Luis Suarez, and the truth is that the Serbian striker has spoken well of the potential signing.
