Barcelona have the intention of signing two of Ajax's biggest stars: De Ligt and De Jong. Both players could be wearing the 'Blaugrana' shirt next summer, depending on how the current situation plays out.
In the case of De Jong, the midfielder will do whatever he can to earn himself a move to Catalonia, and if only one of the two can move, De Jong wants it to be himself rather than De Ligt. That's why, according to 'Sport', he has met once more with the board.
De Jong was already on Barcelona's radar in the summer transfer window, but Ajax managed to hang onto the player by promising to allow him to leave for Valverde's side in 2019. The Dutchman has met with Marc Overmars, to remind him that he promised to allow him to leave when Barcelona come back in for him.
Barcelona are aware, however, that De Jong is also subject to interest from some of the Premier League's biggest sides - Manchester City and Manchester United reportedly lead the way for his signature.
