David de Gea is enjoying life at Manchester United where he has reached 400 matches and this Sunday he is playing the final of the FA Cup against Chelsea. But not everything is going great for the Spanish keeper. He is happy with what is going on on the pitch, but not with what happens off it.
"I'm very much at ease at this club, I've made 400 apearances which shows that this club is unbelievable and that we can be up there again, win things and play another 400 matches," De Gea told 'DAZN'.
"I'm also going to be sincere: everything that surrounds football has become a little bit of a circus. Everyone does what they want, on social media and in the press," the 29 year-old keeper in relation to the exposure footballers get every day.
He continued criticising the press and the social media: You go to the news story and even if it's nonsense, they publish very personal comments, opinions which don't have anything to do with the reality."
In addition, De Gea commented the difference between playing in England and in La Liga in relation to the fans. "Individual players are not taken so much into account here and players receive less affection than in Spain. Azpilicueta or Juan Mata, who has been here many years, has won a World Cup and Euros and you don't seem to get as much affection as back home. But it's true we also feel very loved and respected here."
