The Belgian playmaker has been sidelined with a knee injury since City took on Arsenal on the opening weekend of the season, with doctors originally predicting that De Bruyne would be out of action for around three months.
However, having trained over the international break, the 27-year-old is now 'ready', insisted Pep Guardiola in his press conference ahead of City hosting Burnley on Saturday.
When asked if De Bruyne was available for selection, the Catalan responded "Yep. I don't know [if he will start]. I don't know if he is able to play 90 minutes. He's trained well last two weeks.
"He's such an important player for us. Whenever a player is out, I like it when they come back - we will be stronger."
Guardiola also provided updates on the fitness of Ilkay Gundogan and Fabian Delph: "Ilkay Gundogan is not fit. Fabian is training with us. He is back in contention. Ilkay will be out for two or three weeks. I don't know exactly."
Pep also remarked on Raheem Sterling's magnificent performance in Spain on Monday. He said: "It's important to score goals. Character and personality does not depend on scoring two goals. The most important thing - he knows - at 23 years old, he can still be better."
