De Bruyne opens door to City exit

Kevin de Bruyne is pure talent, and for now, a Manchester City player. However, the sanction of 2 years without playing in Europe, has changed his way of approaching things, he said in a chat with the Belgian news outlet 'HLN'. For the first time, he opened the door to changing club.

If the English club's appeal is not successful, the elegant midfielder will consider a way out. "The club has told us that they are going to appeal and that they are almost 100% sure that they are right. That's why I'm waiting to see what happens. I have confidence in my team. Once the statement is made, I will review everything. Two years (without European football) would be very long. If it's a year I could see it," he said.

De Bruyne also said he would not link his future to that of Guardiola: "I will not let my decision depend on what Pep does. Of course, I have already worked with other coaches and when Pep leaves I will have to continue working with someone else".

De Bruyne ended his speech by denying "real conversations about a contract extension. I don't know what will happen. We're a bit in limbo with everything that's going on in the world right now. When the season finally ends, there may be a chance to look ahead. This is not the time to think about it right now," he concluded.
