De Bruyne, 27, has been sidelined since the opening game of the season with a knee injury. There were originally concerns that the Belgian could be out for up to three months.
However, De Bruyne returned to training last week, and Pep Guardiola hinted that he could be in contention for Sunday, saying "De Bruyne was training today".
Also on the positive side, it appears that left-back Benjamin Mendy has now returned to training after an apparent problem in previous weeks. The manager remarked: "Mendy trained with us today and is in contention".
Elsewhere, Fabian Delph and Ilkay Gundogan are unlikely to feature. The Catalan added: "Everybody is OK, Delph is not available. Gundogan has a little problem and he didn't train today - we will see tomorrow."
