Matteo Darmian, now at Parma, spoke to 'The Guardian' about his time at Manchester United. He had many experiences with the Mancunians, but he had special words for Marcus Rashford, who he sees as capable of anything in the future.
"It seems like yesterday. At the time I thought: 'My God, he's an incredible player. He's done so many amazing things for a player his age, but the way he's improved every single detail is spectacular," he said of his first training session with him.
He's already made over 200 appearances for United, so sometimes you forget that he's 22. That's why Darmian sees him as a trendsetter. "If he continues to work this way, we could be talking about a Ballon D'Or winner, I'm sure. He's the one who impressed me the most of all the United players and he's still young so he could continue improving, so I think he can reach the level of Kylian Mbappe and compete for the individual trophies in the future," he said with conviction.
The Italian full-back also made praised Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer: "I can only speak well of him. If it were up to me, I'd give him a long-term contract. He's a skilled coach and now that the club has started this project, this journey with so many young players, there will be many British players who want to join him. I hope he will be very successful there.
