Daniel Levy's stance with Eriksen opens the door for Madrid

Christian Eriksen ends his contract next June and has no intention of extending his link with Tottenham. Daniel Levy, the club's president, listens to offers.

If Eriksen has not renewed on 1 January and is still with Tottenham, he can sign for any other club. The English entity would not get anything for the Danish player, and Levy, a known tough negotiator, is not prepared to let that happen.

That's why Tottenham has started to listen to offers. Eriksen's performance has also been declining as his name has been linked to major clubs. With Mauricio Pochettino he had become one of the brightest players in the Premier League, but his irregular performances this season are not helping him.

According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham could sell to Eriksen this January at a price of £40 million. That's about 47 million euros. A price much lower than what it could have been expected over the summer.

This is due to the urgency and closeness of his contract's end date. The offensive midfielder is in the market and Real Madrid, the team he's consistently been linked to, could be forced to undertake this investment to scare other clubs interested in Danish, who has his fair share of pretenders.

Zinedine Zidane's great desire is Pogba, but Levy's new stance means Real Madrid will be keeping an eye on Eriksen.
