Dan Burn glad to see end of Isak to Liverpool transfer saga

Dan Burn has admitted he is glad the transfer window is finally over following a summer of speculation at Newcastle United. Speaking on England duty, he reflected on the prolonged saga surrounding Alexander Isak’s transfer to Liverpool.
Burn acknowledged the emotional pull of being both a supporter and a player during the uncertainty, saying: "We are very protective of our club and city and we want players to be there who want to play for Newcastle."
He added: "I'm glad it is done [Isak's transfer]. We wanted the window closed to have a bit of clarity on it. Alex is a mate and I have nothing but good wishes. No animosity. I wish Alex all the best, apart from when we play Liverpool, obviously."
While recognising the frustration among Newcastle fans, Burn emphasised that stability within the squad is now essential. Turning to his own progress, the defender declared: "On a personal level, I am probably playing the best football of my career."
