All summer Manchester United spent the whole summer on the phone to Atletico Madrid. They wanted to know if they were willing to transfer Kieran Trippier.
Atletico always made it clear that they were counting on Trippier for 2020-21. Whoever wanted him would have to pay 60 million euros for him. That's how they conveyed it to United.
In the end, Manchester United forgot about him... Or at least they kept that interest in a drawer. Until now they have found themselves with the possible farewell of Diogo Dalot.
The Portuguese is tired of being on the bench and has already said "yes" to Mou, who wants him at Roma. All that remains to be done is to finalise the deal.
And if Dalot leaves, says 'Manchester Evening News', United will bid for Trippier. The Red Devils know it will be difficult, as he is one of Simeone's key men, but perhaps if they make the right offer, the Spanish side will allow him to leave.
