Cristiano Ronaldo sends penalty wide for first time in six years!

Man Utd had to wait to get an advantage against Middlesbrough because Cristiano Ronaldo did not have his day. In the 20th minute, he missed a penalty in the most unexpected fashion.
Middlesbrough defender Dijksteel brought down Pogba and the referee pointed to the spot. Man Utd had a penalty and Ronaldo picked up the ball. He knew it was his moment.
However, the pressure got to the Portuguese in this case. Cristiano ended up hitting wide of the target. The ball went just wide of Lumley's right hand post, much to the delight of the away supporters.
Fortunately for Cristiano and his team, Sancho took advantage of a good counterattack five minutes later to make it 1-0. That was a deserved lead for Ralf Rangnick's men.
The former Real Madrd man had not missed a penalty (not saved) since 20th March 2016 when playing for Real Madrid against Sevilla. The other three times were against Real Sociedad, Barcelona and West Ham.
