CR7 shirts break records: 32 million pounds in sales revenue in 12 hours

Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United has become one of the biggest events in the world. All the fans of the English club are celebrating the return of the Portuguese star to Old Trafford.
Such is the euphoria of the fans that shirt sales have skyrocketed to an all-time high. Finally, the 36-year-old Portuguese striker will once again wear the '7' shirt he has worn for most of his career. And all thanks to Edinson Cavani, who has given him the number.
As sports finance expert Kieran Maguire points out and 'FOX Sports Australia' reports, a whopping 406,250 jerseys have been sold in the 12 hours after United released the CR7 jersey with the legendary number, a record 406,250 jerseys have been sold.
A record number of sales during this small 12-hour window ever seen in the Premier League and which translates into a profit of almost 32 million pounds for Manchester United from the revenue from these sales alone.
Despite the fact that he has yet to make his United debut, the former Real Madrid and Juventus player can already boast the best-selling Premier League shirt of the season.
