Cody Gakpo is one of PSV's most sought after players. He has a contract at the club until 2026, but if a good offer comes along, he could leave quite a bit earlier.
'Voetbal International' journalist Marco Timmer says that Man Utd are very close to completing the move. The English side are moving quickly to find an attacker to occupy the position Cristiano Ronaldo leaves vacant after his departure.
This source says that his move could be completed for around 50 million euros. Man Urd are optimistic with regards to being able to complete his arrival for the second half of the season.
Marco Timmer reports that United have been up against fierce competition in the fight to get Gakpo. Madrid were reportedly one of the latest to ask about the footballer born in Eindhoven. Around a month ago, Barcelona were also linked with the footballer. Man Utd got ahead of everyone, even Liverpool and Bayern, clubs who had recently shown interest in Gakpo.
In the meantime, Gakpo is calm and not thinking about any rumours. He is with the Dutch national team and the World Cup is his priority. There will be time to think about the future when the tournament ends.
