After eight attempts, Thibaut Courtois has finally managed to save his first penalty.
Of the previous seven this season, six of them were goals while the other one was hit wide (Ruben Alcaraz). The first penalty kick saved by the ex-Chelsea goalkeeper was at Anoeta and it was taken by Willian Jose.
On the other hand, last season, with Keylor Navas under the sticks, the situation was different. The Costa Rican goalkeeper saved two of the four penalties given against Real Madrid.
You have to also remember that there is still uncertainty over who should be the Real Madrid keeper. Despite Courtois' stats this year not being the best, it seems like Zidane has opted for the Belgian ahead of next season.
