The Japan international made 57 appearances for Manchester United during his two-year spell at the club before swapping England for the Bundesliga in 2014.
However, reports in the aforementioned Germany newspaper have claimed that the 29-year-old could be playing in the Premier League again soon.
His resurgance with Dortmund has allegedly attracted interest from Everton and West Ham, who are both looking to bolster their squads in the summer.
Kagawa would be a great addition to either side given his European pedigree, featuring in both the Champions League and its sister competition, as well as making 89 appearances for the Japanese national team.
One decisive factor in the battle could be that West Ham manager David Moyes has previously experience with the midfielder, as the two overlapped at United, but it could take a bit of money and persuasion to lure Kagawa back to England.
