Coudet will not manage Celta against Sevilla

Celta will play the match against Sevilla without its first coach on the bench. Eduardo Coudet has not received the approval of UEFA because he cannot prove the five years of training which the organisation demands from coaches.

The Argentinean Eduardo 'Chacho' Coudet will not be able to lead Celta Vigo from the bench this Saturday, as he cannot prove he has the five years of training required by UEFA to train in Spain.

Celta's board have tried to speed up the procedures to get him a provisional license, with the aim to let Coudet finish the season with the Galician team, but it was impossible, so the goalkeeper's coach, Nando Vila, and the physical trainer, Álex Andújar, will be in charge in Seville.

Coudet, who replaces Óscar García Junyent, began his career as a coach in Rosario on 1 January 2015. In December 2016 he resigned, and only a month later he took over Mexican Tijuana, which he directed until November of that year.

On December 17 he became the new coach of Racing Club, which he left in December 2019. His last adventure on the bench in South America was at Internacional de Porto Alegre, from which he left to sign with Celta.

In the current league championship there has already been a similar case with his compatriot Jorge Almirón, signed by Elche after his promotion to the Santander League.
