A goal, a straight red card and a very tight offside call all came in the space of 11 minutes in the Merseyside derby. Liverpool were 1-2 up at Everton going into the closing stages after Salah's 100th goal for Liverpool when controversy struck.
Firstly, Calvert-Lewin scored. With just a few minutes to go in the match, the Everton man got above everyone else in the opposition box to head in. Adrian had no chance. It made it 2-2 and it made Ancelotti's men think about winning.
Then, Richarlison was sent off. In a fight for the ball in the box, Richarlison made a very bad challenge on Thiago. He caught him with his studs on his knee and, in fact, you can see how his knee bends. The referee did not hesitate in sending him off.
Thirdly, the winning goal was disallowed for a debatable offside. Henderson, in added time, scored what looked like could have been the 2-3 goal if the referee had not disallowed it for offside after a VAR review. The line the VAR drew was certainly debatable: Offside was given against Mane, but that is highly debatable.
