Chelsea are in hot pursuit of Zenit defender Ezequiel Garay, according to Sky Sports Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Argentina international has established himself as a regular for the Russian giants, after impressing following his arrival from Benfica in 2014.
It is believed that Zenit would accept a bid of around £15m for the defender, which would be a signficantly cheaper option than Leonardo Bonucci, who would cost the Blues around £50m.
However, Conte is likely to face competition for Garay's signature, with Inter Milan and Premier League rivals Manchester United supposedly interested in the 29-year-old as well.
