CONFIRMED lineups for Newcastle v Nottingham Forest clash

Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest face each other this afternoon aiming for a win that will boost their hopes for a Champions League spot. With six points separating them, third-placed Forest have a slight upper hand on the Magpies, who currently find themselves outside the European places in seventh.

However, both sides were left frustrated by their recent Premier League outings. Nuno Espirito Santo's men suffered a 2-1 loss at Fulham, while Newcastle's trip to the Etihad ended in a 4-0 horror show that saw Marmoush bagging a hat trick to score his first Man City goals. 

Eddie Howe confirmed that defender Botman will miss out on the battle, joining Lascelles on the injury list after the latter tore his ACL. Forward Joelinton is also unavailable despite making encouraging progress in his recovery from injury to avoid any risks with the Carabao Cup final on the horizon.

As for the Tricky Trees, second-choice goalkeeper Miguel is sidelined for the foreseeable future after sustaining a hamstring injury. But there is also good news as Forest welcome Awoniyi back on the bench for the visit to St. James' Park after he recovered from a broken nose and concussion.
