CONFIRMED lineups for Athletic v Mallorca final

Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde said his team have nothing to lose against Mallorca in Saturday's Copa del Rey final after the Basque side suffered defeat in each of their last six final appearances.

Despite being second all-time record winners behind only Barcelona, 'Los Leones' last won the trophy 40 years ago. The 23-time victors, appearing in their 40th final, are favourites against Mallorca for the clash at La Cartuja stadium in Seville.

Athletic's only silverware since the domestic league and cup double in 1984 have been two Spanish Super Cup triumphs, in 2015 and 2021, both against Barcelona.

Mallorca coach Javier Aguirre said his team could not afford to make a single mistake against Athletic if they wanted to win the cup for the first time since 2003.

Athletic starting lineup: Agirrezabala (GK); De Marcos, Vivian, Paredes, Yuri; De Galarreta, Prados; Inaki Williams, Oihan Sancet, Nico Williams and Guruzeta.

Mallorca starting lineup: Greif (GK); Gio Gonzalez, Valjent, Raillo, Copete, Toni Lato; Dani Rodriguez, Samu Costa, Sergi Darder; Muriqi and Cyle Larin.
