It was Championship hosting Premier League in the latest edition of the FA Cup fourth round, as the hosts were up for causing the latest cupset. The fairytale FA Cup magic was not in town, however, as the London giants made their superiority felt.
The visitors enjoyed the lion's share of the first forty-five's possession, making it clear who was mathematically higher, despite fielding a notably weaker side than normal. This pressure was ultimately in vain, as the visitors were unable to put much on target to trouble the home keeper.
There were plenty of positives to take into half-time for the hosts, but Conte would have been happy with the relentless attacking threat his men displayed. The only thing the visitors were lacking was a goal to show for their efforts.
The second half continued along the same vein, as Spurs were happy to dominate early possession. Their efforts were soon rewarded, as South Korea's magician Heung Min Son fired in a superb strike from around 25 yards, placing it out of Woodman's reach in the bottom corner. This seemed to knock the home side's confidence, as they did their best to muster a response, but were unable to get past the dominant Spurs midfield.
Son soon added to his collection, collecting the pass with his back to goal. He neatly turned, seeing off two Preston defenders at once, opening up the space to fire home on 69 minutes. If two goals were not enough to convince the fans of the result, Tottenham's third really killed the tie off. This time is was Danjuma's turn, as he slotted home easily from a Kulusevski cross.
This result was as expected at the start of play, with the Premier League outfit more than happy to see themselves into the hat for the FA Cup fifth round. They await to find out their fate, as will be gonig up against the best of the rest left in the competition.
