Leo Messi has once again hit the headlines for off the field reasons. The Argentine has been tempted once again by a Man City who seem willing to wait as long as they need.
It has been less than a week since the transfer window closed and the name of a footballing star has been mentioned. Omar Berrard, the chief of operations at Man City, has been the one to mention Messi.
In an interview with 'Manchester Evening News', when asked about the possible signing of the Barca player, he said: "He's the best player in the world and in his generation. I think any club in the world would want to explore the possibility of having him in his team."
"It's difficult to know what could happen. If you think about those two weeks in which everything happened at Barca, you get an idea of that it's impossible to know what will happen next summer," he added.
Omar Berrard, in addition, confirmed that the club are thinking about trying to get the player again. "He's the best player in the world and he would probably be an exception with regards to any possible investment we would make in normal circumstances."
"But know we've made our plans based on the squad we have even if it is something we are considering based on the possibilities we have," Berrard continued.
And if there's someone who doubts whether Man City have the necessary resources to pay Messi's salary, City's chief of operations made it clear: "We have to be prepared in each and every position because many things can happen at the same time."
"But also I think we have the financial power and the infrastructure to make an important investment if necessary," Omar Berrard concluded.
