Pep Guardiola's Manchester City look unstoppable after clinching a 16th consecutive win in the Premier League, and they are already being hailed as the best team to grace English football.
However, speaking to 'TalkSPORT', Wayne Rooney pointed out that they are yet to win a single piece of silverware. "I'm not sure they are quite there," said Rooney, who was part of Sir Alex Ferguson's side that won the Champions League and Premier League double. "They would have to keep going and do a lot more. I would go with the United team from 2008."
United were crowned champions of England four times between 2007 and 2011, and Rooney believes that team, which included the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo or Carlos Tevez, is the best since the Premier League's inception.
"There are so many great teams throughout the years in the Premier League. This City team need to win trophies and do it for a longer period to be in that bracket," Rooney added.
"Pep Guardiola deserves so much credit. The way he has got City playing in incredible. But I don't think they can go unbeaten all season. There are five or six teams that can all beat each other, and I'm sure in one of those City will get beaten."
