City considering swap deal for Cancelo

Man City star Joao Cancelo was not getting enough game time for his liking at the English champions, which is what provoked his loan move to German league leaders Bayern Munich. It was a deal agreed in January, bringing him up until the end of this season, meaning in June, he is set to return to Manchester.
There have already been reports of the German giants not wanting to buy him out of his City contract due to the high release clause. However, it's looking unlikely he will jump straight back into Guardiola's side due to the high competition there, meaning he's back to square one.
However, according to 'The Mirror', the English giants are thought to be plotting a mighty swap deal which would include Cancelo. In other words, the Citizens would offer Bayern full ownership of the Portuguese defender while asking for Joshua Kimmich in return.
The German midfielder is liked by Guardiola, and it could be an option to replace Ilkay Gundogan, who may be off to Barcelona this summer. This would be a deal between two players that the City board would see of equal value, and the English side would gain yet another strong midfielder while getting rid of a defender they perhaps won't be needing for their title defence season.
